  1. National reports for educational systems of Bulgaria, Serbia and Slovenia and implementation of STEAM in primary education

The Curriculum Mapping report provides a clear and current overview of potential interdisciplinary areas at the primary education level (1st – 4th grades) where STEM/STEAM activities can be incorporated. This report encompasses information for all three partner countries and covers the highlighted four-year period of study.

Mapping the Curriculum in the context of STEM/STEAM helps identify key points where STEM/STEAM activities can be integrated into primary education without major curriculum changes. Each of the three countries—Bulgaria, Serbia, and Slovenia—has mapped their National Educational Standards, focusing on Science, Mathematics, Technology, Engineering, and Arts. The mapping highlights relevant topics within each curriculum, showing where STEM/STEAM activities can be easily introduced, and reveals commonalities across the national systems. This enables a smoother integration of interdisciplinary activities into classrooms.

  2. S. TEMPO Methodology

    S. TEMPO Methodology is theoritical guidelines for the STEM/STEAM education and practical ideas for STEM/STEAM activities. In the first part of the Methodology are presented some important accents in the STEM/STEAM idea: STEM Education - Meaning, Nature, Specifics in Primary School, Teaching Approaches for STEM Education in Primary School, Scientific method in STEAM, STEM + Arts = STEAM, Assessing STE(A)M Learning Outcomes, Creative Thinking in STEAM.

The second part is dedicated to the practical realization of the STEM/STEAM idea. Here the reader can find an Algorithm for designing STEM/STEAM activities. This Algorithm is a guideline for the teachers how to create STEM/STEAM activities step by step.

The second part contains also four examples for STEM/STEAM activities:

Example of STEAM Activity for 1st Grade – “This is me”, Example of STEAM Activity for 2nd Grade – “Symmetry”, Example of STEAM Activity for 3rd Grade – “Balance Scales”, Example of STEAM Activity for 4th Grade – “Classifying animals”.
